In addition to that he is recognized as the renowned Ortho specialist to have done the First Triathion Knee Replacement in South India,the First Total Mobility Ankle Replacement in India and the First Female Specific Knee Replacements in South India.Dr.John Thayyil has treated more than 10,000 sports injuries and has operated many popular sportspersons and celebrities across India. On top of these achievements,Dr.John Thayyil is certified to have carried out the First Artificial Salucartilage Implantation in South India. Besides his other academic qualifications including MBBS, MS(Orthopedics), Diploma in Tissue Banking, Mch Orth, MRCS, F.NUH, FRSH and Fellowship of Shoulder Surgery, Dr.John Thayyil has recently received FRCS Glasgow to add to his outstanding academic excellence.
